Membership Information
KOLA membership benefits include a membership list for networking and discussing local issues, participation in committees from the membership to study occupational license issues in Kentucky, periodic training seminars conducted by the IRS , and an association newsletter. The annual KOLA conference is held in September with speakers addressing issues of interest to the membership across all subjects and all types and size organizational units. Regular membership
Any person actively employed by a unit of local government, state government, or local government affiliated association, including local boards of education, within the Commonwealth of Kentucky who is personally involved in the licensure of occupations or the administration or collection of occupational license fees or taxes imposed by a unit of local government shall be eligible to become a Member of KOLA upon payment of an application fee of Ten Dollars ($10) and the annual membership fee for the current fiscal year.
Member Emeritus
Any person who has been employed by a unit of local government, state government, including local boards of education, within the Commonwealth of Kentucky and during that time was directly involved in the licensure of occupations or the administration or collection of occupational license fees or taxes imposed by a unit of local government, and by a vote of the majority of the Board of Directors is declared as a Member Emeritus due to their outstanding service and contributions to the profession of occupational license fee administration, until such time that the Member Emeritus membership is revoked by a majority of the Board of Directors.
Membership Fees
Each Member of KOLA shall be charged a membership fee which shall be paid annually. Membership fees for members shall be determined annually by resolution of the Board of Directors. Members shall be considered in good standing with all of the rights and privileges appurtenant thereto when all membership fees and other fees have been paid in full. Members Emeritus shall be exempt from annual membership fees.
